The Animal Sports School
was set up in a field not far from
where the races were to be held. Along the bottom of the field ran a river, and next to it
was an old hay barn, both of which were the main features of the training circuit.
During the four training
weeks leading up to the
races the rabbits very kindly
opened up their burrows, to
allow anyone who wanted it
to have a bed between
practise sessions.
